WWE Scouting Major Names to Finalize Evolution 2 Card

With less than two weeks until the highly-anticipated Evolution 2, WWE is reportedly in a last-minute scramble to finalize the card and lock in appearances from key female legends. The all-women’s event is scheduled for Sunday, July 13, 2025, at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia.

According to a report from Fightful Select, the company has been in active negotiations with several former stars.

“There were a number of other legends that were contacted.”

One of the names confirmed to be in talks is Trish Stratus, who already reignited her storyline with Tiffany Stratton following this week’s SmackDown tapings. However, the process of securing talent for the event has reportedly been turbulent.

“Some of the creative and the negotiating came down to the wire.”

Part of the backstage challenge stems from an injury to Liv Morgan, one-half of the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions, which has forced significant creative changes. As a result, her partner, Raquel Rodriguez, will now need to find a replacement to defend the titles. This development has reportedly caused a reshuffle in plans for several matches.

The sense of disorganization was apparently felt by the talent as well, who were not informed about the event until it was publicly announced.

“Talent had not been told of the event before the public announcement, though many had heard the online rumors.”

Despite the internal rush, the on-screen card for Evolution 2 is taking shape. A major title match will see WWE Women’s World Champion IYO SKY defend against Rhea Ripley, a renewal of their rivalry from WrestleMania 41. Additionally, NXT Women’s Champion Jacy Jayne is set to defend her title against Jordynne Grace.

A Battle Royal has also been announced, with the winner receiving a future championship opportunity at the WWE Clash in Paris. The match is expected to feature surprise entrants and returning legends, tying into the company’s ongoing efforts to bolster the event’s star power.
