With just hours until Clash in Paris, some WWE talent have already been sent home from France. According to a report from Fightful Select, wrestlers who are not scheduled for tonight’s premium live event or tomorrow’s Monday Night Raw taping have begun returning to the United States.
The move comes after the company wrapped up a European tour leading into the Paris events. Sending talent home who are not booked for the televised shows is a common practice, allowing WWE to reduce travel expenses while giving performers time to rest.
While some are heading back to the U.S., a stacked card is set for those remaining in Paris for the historic event. Clash in Paris is WWE’s first-ever premium live event in the city and will be the last main roster show to stream on Peacock. Tonight’s main event will see Seth Rollins defend the World Heavyweight Championship against CM Punk, Jey Uso, and LA Knight in a Fatal Four-Way match.
Other major matches scheduled for the event include John Cena facing Logan Paul in what is being billed as Cena’s final in-ring performance in Europe. Becky Lynch is also set to defend the Women’s Intercontinental Championship against Nikki Bella.
Adding to the evening’s intrigue, speculation has been high since yesterday that Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson could make a surprise appearance. The rumors started after he posted a video from Venice, Italy—a short flight from Paris—leading fans to believe he may get involved in John Cena’s match as part of their ongoing storyline.
