Joe Tessitore and Wade Barrett take their places at the commentary desk, with Lillian Garcia handling ring-announcing duties. Tama Tonga, Jacob Fatu, LA Knight, and Tiffany Stratton are shown arriving at the arena. Joe Tessitore kicks off the show from inside the ring. Soon after, Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes makes his entrance.
Tessitore questions Cody Rhodes about his expectations for yet another week as champion. The Undisputed WWE Champion addresses Shawn Michaels’ selection as the moderator for the contract signing at Saturday Night’s Main Event, emphasizing Michaels’ current role as the head of NXT.
Rhodes speaks about the importance of the WWE Championship and its deep connection to WrestleMania. Tessitore brings up the piledriver that took Cody out during the last SNME, asking about Kevin Owens’ current mindset. Rhodes analyzes Owens’ reputation in the locker room, acknowledging his high ring IQ but pointing out Owens’ tendency to take the easy way out. He highlights the nature of a Ladder Match—no referee mistakes, just the unrelenting pursuit of the title.
Regarding his upcoming encounter with Owens, Rhodes remarks that while he’s the son of a plumber, he’s also a protégé of Randy Orton. The champion wraps up with a simple “good luck” directed at Owens.
Backstage, Pretty Deadly runs into DIY. Johnny Gargano informs them that he has a match against Apollo Crews, leaving Pretty Deadly to fend for themselves against the Motor City Machine Guns. Ciampa advises the duo to take care of business, while Gargano expresses his confidence in them before heading off.
Pretty Deadly then crosses paths with Legado Del Fantasma in the hallway. Santos Escobar removes his sunglasses with a sly smile as Pretty Deadly continues on their way.
The Motor City Machine Guns make their entrance for the upcoming match.
Joe Tessitore hypes up the Saturday Night’s Main Event, set to take place this Saturday night. Notably, Matthew McConaughey is spotted enjoying SmackDown from the front row.

Joe Tessitore hypes up the upcoming clash between Braun Strowman and Jacob Fatu at Saturday Night’s Main Event. A promotional video follows, highlighting the showdown between the two giants.
Kevin Owens interrupts the commentary team, throwing the Winged Eagle Title onto the announce desk. Owens confronts Tessitore about not being given an interview, even taking a jab at Michael Cole, claiming he’s another Rhodes supporter. Owens climbs onto the desk and confronts Matthew McConaughey in the front row, comparing his inevitable victory over Cody Rhodes to the Longhorns’ loss to Ohio State.
Jimmy Uso makes his entrance and confronts Owens. After a brief physical exchange, Jimmy challenges Owens to a match later in the evening, a proposal that gets a nod of approval from McConaughey in the crowd.
Backstage, Chelsea Green is seen walking accompanied by her personal security guard, Piper Niven.
Meanwhile, Carmelo Hayes questions Nick Aldis about his scheduled match for the night. Aldis reveals that his opponent will be someone from RAW. Chelsea Green and Piper Niven then make their entrance, followed by Michin and B-Fab.

– Michin delivered an Eat Defeat to secure the victory.
Carmelo Hayes meets Nick Aldis backstage. Moments later, Damian Priest walks into the office, revealing himself as the newest acquisition for SmackDown.
Tiffany Stratton heads to the ring, celebrating her victory over last year’s Royal Rumble winner, Bayley. The celebration is interrupted by Rhea Ripley, who expresses respect for Stratton’s win over Nia Jax. Nia Jax and Candice LeRae then make their entrance, with Jax announcing her participation in the 2025 Women’s Royal Rumble.
Bianca Belair and Naomi interrupt, also declaring their entry into the Royal Rumble. Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez follow suit, with Morgan taking the opportunity to taunt the other competitors.
Morgan steps into the ring, but Ripley responds with a headbutt, triggering an all-out brawl between the eight women.
6-Woman Tag Team Match: Rhea Ripley, Naomi, & Bianca Belair vs. Nia Jax, Candice LeRae, & Liv Morgan (w/ Raquel Rodriguez)
– Morgan secured the victory with a roll-up on Bianca Belair.
DIY heads to the ring for the next match of the night.
Singles Match: Johnny Gargano (w/Tommaso Ciampa) vs. Apollo Crews
– Apollo wins with a roll-up.
Tama Tonga and Jacob Fatu make their way to the ring, followed by LA Knight.
Singles Match: Tama Tonga (w/Jacob Fatu) vs. LA Knight
– Knight secures the victory with a BFT.
After the match, Jacob Fatu attacks LA Knight, throwing him onto the commentary table. Fatu positions Knight on the table and delivers a series of headbutts. Braun Strowman’s music hits, and he marches to the ring, confronting Fatu. Strowman lands a clothesline that sends Fatu out of the ring. Tama Tonga steps in to hold Fatu back, preventing the altercation from escalating.
Damian Priest is the next to head to the ring, followed shortly by Carmelo Hayes.

– Priest won with a South of Heaven.
Behind the scenes, DIY and the Motor City Machine Guns confront Nick Aldis. Sabin points out that Ciampa and Gargano have been avoiding direct encounters with them. Shelley announces that Nick Aldis has set up a Best-of-Three Series between DIY and The Guns at the Royal Rumble.
Former WWE Women’s Champion and Undertaker’s wife, Michelle McCool, is seen in the audience alongside WWE Hall of Famer Mark Henry.
Damian Priest crosses paths with Cody Rhodes backstage. Cody warmly welcomes Priest to SmackDown, and the two shake hands before Cody leaves. As Cody walks away, Priest remarks, “See you soon, champ!”
Wade Barrett introduces a special video package celebrating Shawn Michaels. Tessitore mentions that HBK will moderate the contract signing between Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens. The commentators then preview the card for Saturday Night’s Main Event.
The Miz approaches Andrade backstage, pitching the idea of helping him become the true superstar he is destined to be. Andrade appears intrigued but leaves, stating he’ll find someone suitable for the role. After Andrade exits, Jimmy Uso walks up to Miz, taunting him.
Jimmy Uso then encounters Carmelo Hayes backstage, warning him that it will take only three moves to beat him next week.
Jimmy makes his entrance for a scheduled segment or match, but Carmelo Hayes follows and blindsides him with a sneak attack. WWE referees and producers rush to separate them and escort Melo backstage.
Kevin Owens walks out to the ring, proudly holding the WWE Winged Eagle Championship.

– Owens won with a Pop Up Power Bomb.
After the match, Kevin Owens drags Jimmy Uso onto the announcers’ table. Owens directs his words toward Matthew McConaughey, who is seated ringside. Before Owens can act further, Cody Rhodes rushes to the ring, pulling Owens back inside.
Cody unleashes a flurry of kicks on Owens, igniting a brawl. The fight spills around the ringside area, with Cody gaining the upper hand. The show ends with Cody standing tall as the credits roll, displaying the executive producers Paul Levesque and Lee Fitting.
