Lyra Valkyria is reportedly set to become the inaugural WWE Women’s Intercontinental Champion tonight on RAW. According to Dr. Chris Featherstone of SportsKeeda, Valkyria will defeat Dakota Kai in the tournament finals, marking her first championship victory on the main roster.
The historic match headlines a packed episode from San Jose’s SAP Center, featuring appearances by CM Punk, World Heavyweight Champion GUNTHER, and Women’s World Champion Rhea Ripley. The card also includes Sheamus vs. Ludwig Kaiser, Chad Gable vs. a mystery luchador, and Finn Balor vs. Damian Priest in a Street Fight.
Dakota Kai shares tournament journey perspective
During a recent interview with The Ringer Wrestling Show, Dakota Kai expressed her emotions heading into the championship opportunity.
I am so pumped. I’m very overwhelmed. I mean, it feels like it’s been a long time coming. I’ve been in the company for about seven years now, and while I’ve had opportunities, it’s almost been like close but no cigar. So for me, next week is a big opportunity to show what I can do, for starters, and then hopefully finish off that fairytale ending and have my hand raised high and have that belt around my waist.
