Drew McIntyre addressed a knee condition by having liquid drained 45 minutes before SmackDown. The procedure was confirmed during commentary by Wade Barrett during McIntyre’s opening match against Jimmy Uso.
Despite the medical procedure, McIntyre competed in the scheduled match. Jimmy Uso secured a victory through a flash pinfall, but McIntyre immediately responded with a post-match attack.
When referees and producers attempted to stop McIntyre from driving Uso’s head into the ring post, McIntyre broke free from their intervention. He returned to the ring and connected with a Claymore Kick on Uso.
