WWE Star Who Hasn’t Wrestled Since 2022 Open To Return If Right Opportunity Arises

Former two-time Divas Champion Maryse has not ruled out a WWE return. Her husband, The Miz, confirmed in an interview with Adrian Hernandez of Unlikely that she is open to competing again if the right storyline is offered.

The Miz said a comeback is possible, stating it would happen “If the right opportunity presents itself.”

The topic surfaced as he reflected on their mixed tag match against John Cena and Nikki Bella at WrestleMania 33. He described it as a personal and professional milestone. “I loved walking down the ramp with my wife as a tag team,” The Miz said. “It’s so cool and not many people get to actually do what Maryse and I got to do, which is walk down the aisle in our wedding and in our career at the biggest stage of all, WrestleMania. That was a really cool moment.”

Maryse’s last official match was at the 2022 Royal Rumble, where she and The Miz lost to Edge and Beth Phoenix. Though she has not wrestled in more than two years, she was seen in the crowd at the Evolution 2 premium live event.

While The Miz’s memories of WrestleMania 33 are positive, he has recently voiced frustration over being excluded from John Cena’s farewell tour. He believes his WrestleMania 27 main event victory over Cena for the WWE Championship should have secured him a final match.

On a recent podcast, he expressed anger that AJ Styles was chosen instead. The match, announced by Triple H on September 23, will take place at Crown Jewel in Perth, Australia, on October 11. “I’ll tell you what. I’ll tell you backstage, I was happy for AJ Styles, but very angry that it’s AJ Styles versus John Cena and not John Cena versus The Miz,” he said, later admitting, “Selfishly, I want that match.”

With other high-profile couples such as Seth Rollins & Becky Lynch and CM Punk & AJ Lee featured in major storylines, another Miz and Maryse pairing remains a viable creative option for WWE.
