WWE Takes Action After Nia Jax Botch on SmackDown

WWE has edited the online replay of the WWE Women’s Championship bout from the September 26 episode of SmackDown, removing a botched pinfall sequence.

The contest, held at the Kia Center in Orlando, featured Tiffany Stratton defending her title against Nia Jax and Jade Cargill. In the version uploaded to YouTube, the awkward moment where the referee stopped a count early is omitted.

During the live broadcast, Stratton attempted to pin Jax, who did not kick out in time. The referee halted the count before three, drawing loud boos from the audience. In the edited replay, the footage cuts from Stratton landing a dropkick on Cargill directly to her moonsault finish, erasing the flawed pin attempt.

A report from WrestleVotes linked the in-ring error to a late change in the match’s planned conclusion. The adjustment became necessary after Cargill was legitimately busted open.

The report noted that Cargill was initially supposed to be part of the finish but required medical attention. With only three minutes left in the broadcast, an improvised ending was arranged.
