WWE reportedly planning tag team championship matches for WrestleMania 41, with The Street Profits and The War Raiders defending their titles.
WWE is putting the finishing touches on several championship matches as WrestleMania 41 approaches, with recent reports revealing plans for tag team title bouts in Las Vegas later this month.
The Street Profits, currently holding the WWE Tag Team Championship, are expected to defend their gold in a multi-team contest. According to The Wrestling Observer, Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins will likely face off against The Motor City Machine Guns, Pretty Deadly, Los Garza, and DIY in a Fatal Five-Way. This would mark their second WrestleMania appearance as champions since dethroning DIY last month.
Reports suggest the match could be contested as a Ladder Match on Night Two of WrestleMania. This timing consideration comes as NXT Stand & Deliver V has already announced a Women’s North American Championship Ladder Match for WrestleMania Saturday, featuring Zaria, Kelani Jordan, and four others.
Meanwhile, The War Raiders will enter WrestleMania as champions for the first time in their careers. Erik and Ivar have been defending the World Tag Team Championship against multiple teams since defeating Finn Balor and JD McDonagh in December. The New Day recently issued a challenge to the champions.
While not officially announced, sources indicate The War Raiders will likely square off against Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods at WrestleMania, though the match could potentially be saved for Raw After WrestleMania.
