WWE Heavily Criticized Over Bron Breakker’s WrestleMania 41 Plans

Former WWE head writer Vince Russo speaks out against a possible multi-competitor Intercontinental Championship match involving Bron Breakker at WrestleMania 41.

Vince Russo has criticized the idea of Bron Breakker defending the Intercontinental Championship in a multi-man match at WrestleMania 41 in April. The former WWE head writer from the late 1990s shared his perspective during a recent episode of Sportskeeda Wrestling’s Writing With Russo.

Breakker has held the Intercontinental Championship since defeating Jey Uso on October 21, 2024, on RAW. According to a recent report from WrestleVotes on Backstage Pass, WWE may be planning a multi-competitor match for Breakker at WrestleMania 41.

During his conversation with host Dr. Chris Featherstone, Russo expressed his disapproval of booking multiple competitors in one match for the Intercontinental Championship at WrestleMania.

You’re right, bro, because you know from past [WrestleManias] they wanna get as many people as they can on WrestleMania, and that will do nothing for nobody.

Russo’s comments reflect his opinion that a multi-man match would diminish the importance of both the championship and the competitors involved, based on his observations of past WrestleMania booking patterns.

WrestleMania 41 is scheduled for April 19-20, 2025, with no official announcement yet from WWE regarding Breakker’s match on the card.

Judgment Day Could Face Another Absence After Brutal Attack

Following a vicious Spear from Intercontinental Champion Bron Breakker on last week’s RAW, Carlito may be removed from WWE programming due to a storyline injury.

Carlito might be written off WWE programming following last week’s brutal attack from Intercontinental Champion Bron Breakker on Monday Night RAW. The Judgment Day member was left twitching in pain after Breakker caught him at ringside and delivered a devastating Spear.

Tonight on RAW, General Manager Adam Pearce could potentially announce that Carlito has suffered a storyline injury as a result of Breakker’s attack. This announcement would establish that the Judgment Day member is medically unfit to compete, leading to his temporary absence from the red brand.

This potential angle would likely serve to advance upcoming storylines. While Carlito may be temporarily removed from television, his absence could set the stage for Finn Balor to step into a feud with Breakker for the Intercontinental Championship.

The timing of this potential development aligns with WrestleMania season, potentially building toward a championship showdown at WrestleMania 41. Some fans have noted possible hints at the return of Balor’s “Demon” persona, which could be incorporated into this storyline as it progresses.

Balor has not utilized his Demon character on the main roster for some time, but recent subtle references have sparked speculation about its potential resurrection specifically for a high-profile match against Breakker.

This potential storyline development remains speculative at this point, with confirmation expected during tonight’s broadcast from Madison Square Garden.
