According to PWInsider, Black’s AEW contract expired on February 9, 2025, making him an immediate free agent. The former AEW star had previously requested his release from the company in 2022, expressing interest in returning to WWE at that time.
Black’s departure follows his last AEW storyline, where the House of Black underwent the name change before his exit. While his future plans remain unconfirmed, backstage reports suggest WWE remains a likely destination.
