Triple H faces Women’s Tag Team Championship dilemma after Jade Cargill injury
WWE faces crucial decisions about Women's Tag Team Championship after Jade Cargill's injury sidelines her. Veteran criticizes original pairing as Triple H weighs options.
WWE faces a critical situation with the Women’s Tag Team Championship following a brutal backstage attack on Jade Cargill. The assault left Cargill with multiple injuries, including deep lumbar paraspinal muscle contusions, a sprained MCL, and facial lacerations, forcing her out of action through WrestleMania 41.
The incident creates immediate challenges for both the championship and Bianca Belair. WWE veteran Vince Russo suggested on Sportskeeda’s Writing with Russo that pairing these two talents might have been a misstep from the beginning.
“As a writer, if I have Batman and I have Superman, I am not taking two stars and making them one,” Russo explained. “I am putting somebody with Batman to raise them up. I am putting somebody with Superman to raise them up. So now I got 4 stars.”
Russo emphasized that both performers could better serve the roster as singles competitors, though he acknowledged Cargill’s relative inexperience: “I think that roster needs both of those women as singles wrestlers, but Jade is green. I mean, that’s the problem.”
Championship future remains uncertain amid Belair’s loyalty
WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H now faces several options regarding the championship’s future.
While assigning Belair a new partner remains possible, sources suggest she might refuse replacements out of loyalty to Cargill.
The situation could lead to Belair defending the titles alone, potentially setting up a character evolution following Survivor Series: WarGames 2024. However, with new women’s singles titles reportedly planned, Triple H might require the championship’s relinquishment to reset the division.
